The Highball //1142 South Lamar Boulevard// Austin, TX 78704

WHAT: The New Day is Austin’s premier soul night, featuring special guest DJs from around the country every month. The New Day is not your average soul night; instead this is a party that showcases talent from some of the heaviest collectors in the soul & funk community nationwide. This month marks the seventh New Day and we’re going strong. This month, coolhands and BSears are proud to announce guests:

NRich (DFW)
& Hobo D (Applied Pressure, Peligrosa)

Nathan Rich has been a record collecting force in Ft. Worth force over 20 years. Beyond holding two regular DJ residencies in the DFW area, he has also played guest spots around the country and was a mainstay of the Austin Soul Club during its heyday in 2006.

Focused on soul, R&B, garage and psychedelia records from Texas, Nathan has contributed for two books written on Texas/Southwest music history. His uptempo soul selections, coupled with his uncanny ability to move a crowd, should make for a fun night.

This month only: come early to catch a rare soul set from Austin’s own Hobo D. He will be dropping slow soul burners the first hour of the night, a change of pace from his steady parties - Applied Pressure and Peligrosa.

Expect to hear music to make you move.

Come out to The Highball on November 19th and witness the soulful sounds of, “The New Day” Austin, TX’s rare soul destination.
